Adding an FTP Account

So look at the top of the screen click 'Sites > Site Manager' or you can simply press your 'F4' key (located at the top of your keyboard).

Now we're going to add your FTP account to the program. With the new Site Manager window you should now have open, look towards the bottom left and click 'New Site', it will then ask you for a site name, call it anything you want.

Now you need to fill in the boxes marked IP Address, User Name, Password (Port should be 21 by default).

Ignore the other boxes, they are not required for what we want to do. To complete just click 'Apply' at the bottom of the window. You have now added your FTP account, so close site manager click 'Close'.

First of all let's find your directory, above the left screen will be a drop down box, simply find the folder where you have stored your website. Now above the right screen you should see an icon that looks like lightning click it and you new site should pop up, go down to it and click on it. Now it's connecting to your website (info will show up below the right screen, don't worry about that unless it comes up with unable to connect, then mail support@fdhost.co.uk).

When the FTP connects, there should already be 2 folders on your site that are labelled 'bin' & 'cgi-bin' they are for CGI scripts, which is at the moment of no intrest to you so just leave them there.

Now your connected simply select all the files and folders you want to upload from the left screen and drag them over to the right screen and then you will see the uploading status at the bottom of the your screen, once that is complete your website will be online.

To check just visit your website.

You are now done and your website should be online!

Notice: Websites always look for an index file (index.htm, index.html, index.php, etc). Please make sure the first file you want your viewers to see is labelled as an index page.
