In the short, we simply do not lie to you. With us you get what you pay for. Many companies quote "unlimited" or "un-metered" bandwidth allocations, but in the small print you will find that they have the right to remove your site without warning if you are using too much bandwidth. They basically put a limit on the site but will not tell you what it is. We on the other hand tell you the limit with each plan that you have.

The chances of going over the limit are very small since we offer a generous amount. You can monitor your use of this from within your control panel. Should your site exceed its transfer allowance, a page explaining this will be displayed in place of your website until you contact us to make arrangements for extension of the transfer limit.

When transfering a domain name to our registrar (full transfer) we will normally make a small charge equivilent to one years registration of the domain - you will be credited an extra year to the registration period of your domain as part of this charge. In summary, there is no fee, as the charge you pay is used to extend your domains lifetime. DNS only transfers incurr no transfer change at all.

It is important for your service to have a solid reliable internal network. Our network utilises fibre optic connections from BT, Telewest, Kingston Communications & Fibrenet. Each building has fibre presented from a minimum of two different telcos ensuring that no single point of failure exists within our infrastructure.

Throughout our network, key equipment is duplicated, we use technologies including BGP and hot standby routing protocol to ensure the continuous availability of your web site even in the event of the failure of one piece of equipment.

All our hosting servers are UNIX based and run on FreeBSD.

Yes all hosting and reseller accounts with FD Host can be administered from our very own control panel software.

Our servers are currently located in secure building in Doncaster, Sheffield. They are monitored 24 hours a day.
